Wooden Angel Wings

Just for Fun Challenge.  This weeks challenge seems to have come around quickly.  Week 4 of the challenge is still on the wings theme but this time it is Angel Wings.

These wings are made out of 5 mm ply wood.  Here are some photos of the different stages of construction:

I made a template out of a cornflakes box and transferred the shape onto the plywood.  I then cut the wooden shape out using my scroll saw.

The wings were coated with white acrylic paint.  I then stamped the feathers all over the wings.  The wings have been coloured in using water colour paint.  I used some distressing ink just to finish it off.

The embellishments have been made from pieces of hard board.  They have been painted with acrylic paint, stamped on to and then distressed.

Best Wishes Florence.

  3. Wow Florence now this is a masterpiece ! Everything about it is amazing ! Where do you get your inspiration from ? My stamp is from a company called Djeco they have lots of stamp sets for children and I bought quite a few of them they have a catologue on line. Isn’t it funny here in Greece I can’t get rubber stamps ( or virtually anything else craft related ) and yet the local toy shop had these so I just had to have them as you do.

    Have a great weekend.
