Collage of Squares Picture JFF challenge

Well it is week 12 over at the Just For Fun challenge site.   Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun!.  This weeks challenge is squares which has been chosen by Von.  This is my contribution.  mainly, and as usual, inspired by thing around the house and garden.

I went with a natural theme.  I rushed round the house trying to find elements of nature.  The oak leaves and the ivy leaves are from my pressed flower stash,  metal bits and pieces are from Freddie’s tool shed.  Bamboo sticks are from the kitchen.  A piece of bark (no it’s not doggy doo!) is from the log shed.  The beads and other embellishments are from my craft box.  I used dominos to represent ivory.  The centre piece is my take on a fossil.  Our house is built of stone so this is where the idea came from.

The backing board, which came out of the builders skip, was based coated and distressed.  I used mount board for the squares, painted them and distressed them.  The embellishments have been added using diamond glaze and pva glue.  I did coat the leaves and bark with mod podge just for added protection.  The dominos have been covered with glass paints and then stamped onto.

Stamps used: small tree – Clarity Stamps, Script and poppies – Elusive Images (?)  and the time background – Creative Expressions.

Have a great Easter everyone.

Best Wishes Florence.
