Thinking Spring is in the air I made a couple of spring cards last night. Actually they are going to be sent to a couple of people who didn’t receive Christmas cards this year …Oooops!
I didn’t want to use glossy or coated card stock for these so I painted some bulk standard card (only type I can get hold of) with gesso and then coloured the stamped images using some basic felt tips.
I’ve been crafting quite a bit this week. We have had no rain since before Christmas so I decided to get the Beast and Hector out. Would you believe it. There is rain forecast for the weekend! I did manage to get a few projects started but nothing to show for my efforts at the moment. Oooo! Ethel’s cousin Matilda may be making an appearance over the next couple of weeks. I managed to find some lamp shades at the second hand store. Just got to sort out the body! The puppets AND mine me thinks! lol!
Happy Crafting,
Florence.
I like the use of Gesso on your cards, always a must have supply. Beautifully coloured images.

Wow, how cute is Ethel, and how come I missed her debut last August? Have always loved puppets, had a Pelham one as a child but couldn’t get him to work properly. Went to a puppet show year before last while on holiday in Somerset with the Gsons and I think I enjoyed it more than they did.
Beautiful cards as well Florence.

Hi Ann. How funny is that. My love of puppets come from the Pelham puppets I had when I was small. I only had two of them which I still have in their boxes. They fascinate me. Great to hear from you Ann. Thank you for calling in and for sharing.

Hi Florence, gorgeous cards, I love all the stitching and beautiful colouring. I can’t wait to see Matilda as Ethel is superb. I did look like a Beatle by the way, my Mum always liked George Harrison so my cut was probably modeled on him. I feel quite tempted to upload one of my old school photos then you can see my hair was truly dreadful, mind you it didn’t look much better in the 80s, my sister used to call me Brian May!! xx

Hi Paula. You are a star. I haven’t laughed so much for ages! When I saw your comment come in earlier, Freddie asked me what I was laughing at. Real fits of giggles and tears! You must post a photo. I know the Brian May look…. I still have it! LOL!!!
Great to hear from you. Thank you for popping in and for such a lovely comment.

Oh I know, right? We should get stamping instead! I used to make lots of really pretty cards with my mum and sister, but that sort of died out after we finished our collage draw.. after that happened, we sort of left it up to mum to make cards with whatever we bought from time to time 🙂 they’re still really pretty, but nothing like yours….

Do you have a craft room? I wonder sometimes when I see your wonderful projects about what your organizational patterns are. Silly, but you have so many cool crafts, makes me wonder!

Hi there. Lovely to hear from you. I am quite lucky that I have a good sized craft room. It’s about 20 sq M in size. I have wall to wall racking for storage. Nothing gets thrown away!! lol! One half of the room is for paper, paint and altered art projects and the other half is set up for quilting and sewing projects. I have three good sized tables in the room so I can change and work on different projects at any time. We have good weather for the majority of the time so the turning machine, scroll saw and power tools are used outside on the patio. Maybe one day I will be brave and show a photo!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I am very slow to get it rolling and still amazed when someone actually looks at it! Your work is very nice and looks so effortless – beautiful. If you would ever like to do an exchange or swap let me know. I am curious as to how all these challenges get started and how you find out about them.

Hi Lisa. Lovely to hear from you. I was absolutely amazed yesterday, after 12 months, I finally worked out how to find wordpress craft blogs. It was a real treat to find your blog. As for the challenges. I used to join in Just For Fun but that has now finished. If you click on to any of the blogs on my sidebar a lot of my (paper crafting) blogging friends take part in various challenges. They will have links to challenge blogs on either their sidebar or a link contained in a post. I will send you an e.mail with a bit more info.
Lisa, there seems to be something wrong with the link (above) to your blog.
Thank you for calling in and for your kind words. Looking forwards to following your blog.

I have really enjoyed exploring your blog! You are quite a talented lady! I love the puppet, your woodworking tools, and your gorgeous cards! The coloring on these Spring cards is beautiful and seeing the stitching made me smile! I have a sewing machine, but my husband knows more about how to use it than I do! But I’m making an effort to get it out of the closet and start experimenting sewing my card mats together. I love this handmade detail. It adds so much to the card! Lovely creations! ~Vanessa
