I have been crafting with the girls this week. It has all been by remote control via e.mail. I met Chrissie, Sandra and Janet via the JFF challenge. We have decided to carry on crafting together once a week.
This week our challenge was to make anything to do with a hat. Originally I was going to make some fabric flowers and decorate a hat but it just wasn’t working. For quickness I made this little hat instead.
I don’t think I will ever make a Milliner! This hat is really for a rag doll but it is quite big.
The hat was made out of an old table cloth and I used up some scraps to make the little embellishment
The large button is a poker chip. I drilled some holes in it and cover it with some pretty papers. I gave it a coat of modge podge and edged it with a gold pen.
This weeks challenge is a trial run. Chrissie has set up a challenge blog. Initially it was for the four of us to post our creations on. Chrissie, being the kind and generous person that she is, has worked wonders in setting the blog up so that anyone, who wishes to, can join in the fun. The first challenge will be on the 29th March. If you fancy joining in or want to know more about the challenges you can see all the info here.
Best Wishes Florence x
I’ve only got a little head 😉 if your a rag doll short 🙂 Lovely hat Florence and what a good idea with the poker chip
Good luck with your new venture

You are so clever, this really is good, nice and simple, my grandmother was a milliner before she married and used to make us all hats as kids, big floppy fabric ones, I adored them, Grandma was pleased, she had a horror of the sun! c

The hat is so pretty! Who wouldn’t love to be seen in that? The poker chip idea is fantastic. My kids play with my husband’s old poker chip set and I find them lying around the house all the time. Maybe I should start using them for crafts!!! LOL

Hi Tracy. Hope all is well. Tiddly winks are also a good one to use. I remember when I was little the poker chips used to be made out of wood. I had a coat once which had poker chip buttons on!!:) Thank you for calling in and for your lovely comments.

Do love your hat, if it was bigger I would wear it – love the pin and buttons you have made. I love hats, not that they suit me but I just love them. I wish you four all the best with your blog – enjoy yourselves.
