Time again for the Out of a Hat Creations challenge. This weeks theme is “A girl can never have too many shoes”. The challenge is to make anything with a shoe theme. For full details of the challenge, to see Chrissie’s, Janets, and Sandra’s fabulous projects, and all the entries click on the link above.
What to do….. what to do! I settled on a little picture for this weeks project.
I painted and then sanded down an old pine frame. For the backing I have used some prima papers. The floral layer has been cut out using a die.
I sketched a boot shape to use as a template, cut it out of card stock and pretty paper and added a couple of buttons.
The idea for this came from a pair of boots I found in the cupboard. I think I have had these for over 20 years! I can’t believe they have kept for that long. I know, you are probably be thinking why have you kept them for that long! LOL! They are so comfortable! I was looking for a pair of shoes I could possibly alter. Maybe in a steampunk style.
The colour choices for this project came from another find in the cupboard. I love these little coffee cups. I never serve coffee in them but they are ideal for chocolate mousse… Yum!
Thank you for everyone for joining the Hatters last week and for sharing your ideas. I hope you had as much fun as we did.
Happy Crafting.
Best Wishes Florence x

Love the card, love your shoes and they reminded me of Best Buddy Ria who was being flirted with once by a very young and silly man. Her put down to him was “Listen young man, I have shoes older than you”! Brilliant 😉

Hello Florence
Where to begin?
The source of your inspiration is fascinating. You altered the frame beautifully and as I sit looking at your picture I can visualise this being in a pretty little boutique that sells fancy items for home decor. Those buttons are making me swoon.
Those boots definitely would fit a Steampunk style. Of course, now that you have mentioned it to us you have to carry through and alter them, pronto.
As for chocolate mousse, yes please!

You are right you can NEVER have enough shoes! Miles is always saying that I have too many and guess what, every time he says that I go out and buy another pair. Think he would learn. He would love that chocolate mouse though. It is his favorite. Great job on your project. You are always so orginal. I can’t wait to see what you do next.
