Favourite Stamp – A couple of cards

This weeks Out of a Hat challenge is to create something using your favourite stamp or stamp set.  Click on the link above for full details of the challenge, to see Chrissie’s, Janet’s and Sandra’s fabulous projects and all the wonderful entries.

I was really looking forward to this weeks challenge.  I collect two brands of stamps (links on the side bar)  and it was so hard to choose a stamp or set of stamps from my collections.  I love them all.   This is the stamp I decided on and the two little cards that I made.

The main image is an Elusive Image (now branded Chocolate Baroque)  stamp.  I think this stamp has now been retired though.  I couldn’t find it on CB’s website.  The word stamp is by Rubbadubbadoo.

I chose this stamp because I love the image but also I think it was the first stamps I bought in the UK many many moons ago.

I have used the same stamp on this one plus Crafty Individuals door hinge.  The backing papers on both of these are from CI.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the challenge last week.

Before I go, I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who left comments on my last post.  Wow! I was absolutely stunned.  I’ve been a bit poorly this week and I can’t tell you how much of a boost it gave me.  I always appreciate everyone’s visits and comments but to think that you guys (my BFF’s!) spared so much of your precious time to join in my ramblings is just…..Amazing!  Truly, thank you.  Items that came up a couple of times in the comments on the previous post were clay and moulds.  Wendy from Jazzy Doodle Designs very kindly gave some great information about clay.  Wendy has just been on a polymer clay retreat and has posted some of her wonderful creations on her blog.  If, like me, you doubted the moulds, pop over to Wendy’s blog for a mooch.  You will not be disappointed.  Also, my blogging pal Alison – The Crafty Trog also mentioned using UTEE and Friendly plastic in moulds.  Just love it when crafty friends share!!! Fantastic idea. Thank you Alison.

Tat tar for now.  Happy Crafting.

Best Wishes Florence x

  5. Hi Florence, loving both of your cards I can see why this is your favourite stamp, it is very beautiful, reminds me of Burne Jones, beautifully tinted in soft muted colours, I could happily snaffle it off you. I’m glad you’re feeling better, but I think you have passed it onto me now LOL! XX

I wish I would have had more to share with your fine friends who stopped by but I have been so rushed lately. We leave for vacation today but when I return I will do a short tutorial on how to use silicone molds for you and your viewers. Love the hinge and the lovely stamp. Your work is always so beautiful.

  7. Those stamps are gorgeous. The vintage look of the cards really suits them and I love all the colours you used. What did you use to colour the ladies?

    • Hi Tracy. Hope all is well. Y’know, I edited this post to say how I coloured this in and I hadn’t saved it!!! 😉 I wanted muted colours for the ladies so I just painted them in with some ink from some felt tips diluted with some water. Always lovely to hear from you. Thank you for calling in.
