All Lined Up – Cards

Morning everyone.  This week’s Out of A Hat Creations challenge theme is “Lines”.   This is open to your interpretation.  There can be as many or as few lines as you choose on your project.  They can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal, painted, stamped or sewn.  Your choice.  Lots of scope for this one.  It fits lots of styles of crafting.

I have made a couple of cards for this challenge.  I think I need to change it up a little but when I thought of lines this card style is what was stuck in my thoughts.  I have gone for horizontal lines.

Copy of DSC_0001

For the background I used a piece of white glossy card stock.  Firstly, I inked up the leaf stamp with scattered straw DI and spritzed it with water and stamped randomly over the card stock.  I then inked the leaf stamp with vintage paper DI, spritzed it with water and stamped over the card.  When this layer was dry I inked up the leaf stamp with just a browny coloured dye based ink and stamped onto the card stock, over the top of the previous stamping.  I sliced the card stock into strips and edged them with gold pen.  If you you have stamped a complicated pattern on the card it is worth numbering the strips on the reverse to save a bit of time with the reassembly. I glued the strips to the backing card. I then stamped the trees on a die cut and stamped and cut out the leaves.  I stamped all around the edge of the brown die cut with the leaf stamp to tie it all together.  The toppers and embellishments have been attached using foam pads.  Stamps used Kadomo Inc.

For the second card

Is it me or do you think these trees look like brains!! lol!  I used some white coated card stock. Stamped the trees using dye based ink and then masked and sponge some distressing ink over the trees and on the background.  I then sliced the card into 3 pieces and mat and layered it on to the base card using some foam pads.  Stamped used: Chocolate Baroque.

Keep an eye on the Hatters challenge this week as the name of the winner of Janet’s gift is being selected.  Thank you Janet for your generosity.

Have you got your mouse trap yet!!  Dont forget the altered mouse trap challenge is coming up soon.

Right I think that’s about it from me for today.  Tat tar for now.  Happy Crafting.

Best Wishes Florence x

P.S.  I am posting this early today.  The Hatters challenge will be posted at the usual time of 8.30 GMT.
