Addicted to Stamps and More – Sketch Challenge #3

Hi everyone.

It ‘s Wednesday which means it is time for the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge.

For full details of this weeks challenge and to see the fabulous DT pieces click on the link above.

Here is my take on this weeks theme.
I do enjoy sketches although these are also new to me.

DSC_0013

I stamped the main image onto a die cut of white coated cardstock using Broken China DI.  I inked up my stamp and then just ran a felt pen (a slightly darker colour) around the edge of the stamp image just to define it a little.  While it was drying, I cut the dark red pretty paper to size and stamped the birds in the corners using black DIs, just to mirror the birds on the main image.  I then, using a sponge, added some black ink around the edges of the paper. I cut all of my other little pieces out of scrap bits, edged some of them with gold pen and just mat and layered them using foam tape.

Thank you for looking
Florence x

I love your use of the Lynne Perella stamp here – provides such a wonderful focal image, and the shape of the silhouetted birds’ wings echoing the shape of the curly frame edges takes the eye brilliantly around the card… great work on the sketch!

Loving your great focal point Florence……….time goes far too quickly when blogging, sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day to create everything you want to. Hugs Annette x

Beautiful use of the sketch Florence and also the use of the die-cut to bring our eye to the stamped focal.
Oh tell me about it, I certainly relate to your words. I sometimes wonder if it is an age thingy (!) although I always thought I’d be in my 80s before I felt this way and not 44!!!!

Totally agree with you Florence about how quickly the time flies…….think it’s a combo of age and blogging! lol This card is fantastic – love the image. Wouldn’t have thought of using these two colours together but it really works.
