Butterfly Girl Canvas – Crafty Individuals New Releases

Hi eveyone

I am loving the new butterfly stamps from Crafty Individuals.  I have quite a few butterfly stamps in my stash but I love the vintage feel to these new stamps.  The sizing of them is perfect to go behind any of the little people stamps in the CI range.

I have been struggling with hay fever this week so I retreated to the craft room and have been making lots of little butterfly people.  I have a table of them just waiting to be used in projects. Great fun!

Here is one I made last week and have used it on a little canvas.

A really quick little project.

To make this project

Cover a canvas with a serviette or tissue paper.
Apply a coat of Gesso and a coat of white paint.
Randomly stamp the script image.
Use a mask and ink to make the circle patterns.
Spray with a fixative to fix the inks.

The main focal piece

Glue a piece of pretty papers onto a piece of mdf and attach this using hot glue to the frame.
Using a floral mask and relief paste make the pretty pattern and leave to dry.
Place the floral mask back on and color the pattern with ink.
Spray with a fixative to fix the ink.
Attach the small frame and the other embellishments.
Paint the brass corners and attach them.

The Little girl image was stamped, colored, cut out and a coat of modge podge applied.

The flowers were cut out using a die and punches and then colored with paint and then ink.

Crafty Individuals Stamps used:
Childhood Friendship CI 277
Butterfly Pairs CI 437
Inky Script CI 436
Book 8 Weekend in Seville Background Papers
Floral Frame Mask
Frame and brass corners can be seen here.

Thank you for looking.
Have a great weekend.

Gorgeous design Florence, love all the details. Brilliant to add the butterflies to the little girl, I thought they were part of the main image until I ready your description. I hope you are doing well, hugs, Shirleyxx

Hi Florence! 🙂 it’s been a little while that I want to pay you a visit, I love so much your artwork!!!
    This canvas is absolutely ADORABLE…
I love your creativity and the beauty of it!!!
Also your other cards in the posts after this one are fantastic, I love them all!
Can I ask you which kind of fixative do you use for inks? I have several good fixatives in spray, but no one specific for inks.. just to be sure that what I use is really appropriate as I have a doubt. Thanks Flo. Sending you hugs and love, have a lovely end of week (hope your hay fever has ended!..) Coco xxx

Hi Coco, Lovely to hear from you. I use a spray fixative and it seems to work ok for inks: Distress inks, spray inks and also water colors. It is only a bulk standard acrylic fixative. Nothing special. It seems to hold the ink in place to allow me to give a coat of sealer ie. Mod Podge or similar if I want to.
      Hugs Flo xx
