I am here again sharing another project for this months Crafty Individuals Challenge “Face Value”. To see full details of the challenge and to join in the fun please click on the link above.
I have to say I am having so much fun with this challenge.
I hope you can join in.
Here is my next little offering
In real life the little face looks like porcelain but I couldn’t quite capture it on the photograph.
For the main focal piece I used a poker chip.
To make this project
The main focal piece.
Give the poker chip a quick sand with sand paper and drill a hole for fixing purposes.
Stamp the image onto thick card stock using VersaMagic Aegean Blue Ink.
Pick up a little of the ink on a damp paint brush and shade the image.
Glue the image onto the poker chip and trim around the edge with a craft knife or scissors.
Apply one to two coats of spray fixative to fix the ink.
Apply one to to coats of Mod Podge or similar sealer.
Edge the chip with gold pen.
For the beads
Cut long triangle shaped strips of backing paper.
Tip: A great way to use up those scraps.
Apply the glue to the reverse side of the triangles and roll them up to make the beads.
Attach the pearls and all of the embellishments to the pin using jewellery findings or with wire.
Sew the buttons onto the pin using jewellery wire.
Tip My lovely friend Von from Messy Me blog had a great idea a few years ago and she used packaging staples as links. How clever is that!! I will always remember it and thanks Von for sharing.
Thank you for looking.
I will be back in a few days with another project.
Just before I go.
