Happy Monday everyone
A quick little post today to share an altered book project I made recently.
and just another to show the side view
The little bee hive was made out of some air drying clay and then painted.
I cut an aperture out of the front cover of an old book and glued the pages together.
I then glued on some tissue paper here and there and painted all sides with gesso.
I then painted it with various greens and yellows and left it all to dry and sanded the surface.
To finish off I used lots of Crafty Individuals stamps and various different coloured inks to decorated the front cover.
Thank you for looking
Have a great week,
Flo x

It’s a wonderful makeover Florence! I do like seeing some of the older stamp sets in use, especially the grasses which is one of my first ever CI set!

Thank you for the wonderful inspiration, as usual.
I’m sorry for not commenting more often at that time, though I’m still loving all what you create of course. Especially those adorable projects using your Crafty Individuals stamps that only you create… 🙂
Just crazy busy with work and my girls too… I know you will understand.
Hope everything goes well at your side.

I love this. How difficult was it to cut the opening in the cover Flo’ I have promised to make a photo album for some friends who just visited us from UK and I love the idea of making an opening on the front.

Hi Barb, Thank you for calling in. It was pretty easy with a sturdy craft knife. I did find it gave a nicer finish to cut from each corner down first so that the corners were crisp. I also used a metal rule to along. Hope this helps. Looking forward to seeing your album.

Just had a cuppa and a second thought. If your book is an old one and covered with a canvas material sometimes you can cut it roughly and retain some of the threads from the canvas. That gives a nice shabby chic look to your finished project. These are such good fun to make.
