Hi everyone,
I hope you are all in fine fettle and looking forward to the weekend. What you all doing? Going somewhere nice, visiting loved ones or making something in your craft room? If you get chance do let me know in the comments box below.
Today’s little project is really a DT project for Crafty Individuals using one of their super new stamps, “Christmas Sledging Fun”. I love this stamp. So much fun and so cute.
Really easy to make and believe it or not, for me, it is more economical to make these in wood/board than in card.
I cut two pieces of wood/board 10cm x 10 cm and drilled to holes in the top.
The inside
I then base coated them with Gesso and added a coat of white paint.
Using my fingers I added the green and brown dressed colours around the edges and gave everything a sand down to distress it more.
To stamp the images, I covered the stamp with brown and green paint (where seen on the photos above) and then stamped onto the board.
I added some red dots of paint around the outside and coloured the bear with some diluted paint .
To finish off I just threaded some string through the holes to act as hinges.

Linda Edwards Designs:
Christmas Sledging Fun CI 484
Festively Curly Words CI 446
DecoArt Paint.
For my friends who use CI stamps, just to share, the new stamps are on offer for just one week. Please check them out because they are fantastic and at the offer price are real bargain. I don’t want you to miss out.
The new Robin stamp is beautiful….truly. It stamps perfectly every time and is totally charming. It will take you from Christmas all through the year. It is brilliant on its own, but my own personal recommendation is to use it with the Flower heads 2 stamp set with it.
Thank you for looking.
Have a fantastic weekend.

Love this, it’s gorgeous! xx
Your samples are gorgeous! I love all of CI stamps, and the new ones are no exception!
Very cute! I’ll be making some Christmas cards soon as well.
I love the look on wood… naturally distressed and “natural”, a bit Scandinavian style… great stamping with paints too, I find it so difficult to get a good results myself!
This weekend, I will be trying to get ahead with my DT commitments as I may have to dash at a moment’s notice to help my mother who hasn’t been very well. So on the one hand I’m looking forward to the crafting and on the other… there won’t be anytime to just “play”!
So Cute! I love that adorable bear but I especially love your border. The effect you have created made me think this was all on fabric at first glance.
I have spent most of my weekend sewing so far. I am working on a Thanksgiving dress and purse for my little one. Church tomorrow and just relaxing.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Kate
Wow Flo, what a great job you’ve done! I absolutely love this card, its adorable! I’ve also never thought of wooden cards before but I love the effect, thanks for the inspiration! Hope you’ve had a great weekend 🙂
Aww, Florence, this is so sweet!
Although … on first reading I read the title as BEER rather than BEAR. BEER necessities. I wondered what the heck was going on in your life that beer had become a necessity in life. LOL.
Sending squidges ~ Cobs. xxx ❤
Love this one Flo, that image is so cute. Clever idea using paint on wood to stamp it and I really like the effect you have achieved. Not sure I’m brave enough to try even if I had the right equipment, I can see the paint going everywhere except where I want it!
Great idea Florence. love the result !!!!
But I love your work as always!!!

I loveeeeeee this wooden panel so much Flo! Both sides are gorgeous, also the inside. Everything fits to the perfection, really fab work!!!
I have discovered it on Jean’s blog first this morning (I’m so late blogging at the moment, a true snail… 😦
Seriously I’m sad, I think I become a very bad follower and supportive friend. I’m so sorry about this… but really can’t do more at this period of my life.
Hugs, Coco xxx

Hello PF yes tis I after many months making a re-appearance. Fabulous wood board card and so much better than a paper a real keepsake. The stamping really does suit this medium, was it easy to clean the stamp after you used paint ?
Yours UB
