Hi everyone,
I hope you are all well and settling down into the weekend. Apologies for not being in blog land lately. I am desperately trying to catch up and some of you will be aware of my erratic commenting. Things should be back to normal in the new year.
Today I would like to share a hanging I created for Crafty Individuals for their show on Hochanda yesterday. Fantastic demos from Jean Hardy and lovely samples from the team. If you didn’t catch the show it is worth watching on play back.
This may look a bit complicated but was really easy to make.
The base is a piece of ply cut to size with two holes drilled into the top for the wire hanging.
I base coated the ply with gesso, painted the board with brown paint. I then painted (more like splodge around) some PVA glue and painted onto the glue with the sand coloured paint. I then left it to dry naturally and let the distressing work its magic.
I trimmed a piece of pretty paper and attached this to the back of the piece off ply.
For the front, I tore out a few sheets of paper from an old book, added a small amount of glue between pages. I added some paint splodges and distress inks to age the pages more. I then glued this to the base.
I stamped the postcard and tickets onto blank card stock, cut them out and added some distress inks to age them.
I then assembled the piece, as seen, by gluing all of the embellishments to the book pages. I used gel medium for this but any strong glue would work.
To finish off, I attached the piece of wire for hanging purposes.
Crafty Individuals Stamps used:
Vintage Tickets and Ephemera CI 307
Vintage Postcard CI 477
Day Out Ticket CI 022
Silver Corner Protectors – I find these really useful
Scrapiniec laser cut piece “Always Follow Your Dreams. These are a new product to CI. Do check out the range in the Crafty Must Haves section. They are fab for mixed media projects or for your cards. They are delicate but quite robust. They take ink and paint wonderfully.
That’s about it from me. Have a fantastic weekend.
Take care all,
Flo x

Aw, really lovely Flo. So stylish and so elegant, but it looks like a found item, at the bottom of a trunk of things found in the attic. Truly lovely. ~ Cobs. xxx
