I hope life is treating you kindly.
Thank you everyone for your comments on my last post.
Today I would like to share a domino brooch and a quick and easy gift box that I made recently.
To make the brooch, I gave the domino a light sand. This isn’t necessary but I have found that it takes the ink better when colouring the image. I then inked up my stamp with black Staz-On and placed the domino onto part of the stamps image that I wanted to appear on the broach. I coloured the image using felt pen ink, rubbed on some black Staz-On around the side edges of the domino and added some gold using a permanent marker. To seal the ink I sprayed it with fixative and gave it a coat of Mod Podge for good measure. I then attached a broach pin on the reverse side of the domino.
The tag is just for display and packaging purposes. It was made quickly out of Kraft card using a paper punch and then stamped onto.
With Christmas coming up I thought it would be nice to make a box for this brooch. I used Kraft card for the box…..looooving that!
I trimmed a piece of card to size, painted and decorated the piece and then scored it. (please see diagram below). I punched some holes for closing purposes and added some brass eyelets.
To decorate the box, I punched some leaves out of green card stock. I stamped the postcard and the flowers, cut them out, coloured them in and attached them as seen.
Please feel free to copy this diagram if you want to. Just right click with your mouse.
You can use any size of card for these boxes.
These gift boxes work for gift wrappings, party favours or even a piece of cake. Really quick and easy. Very economical as well. We like that hey!
Take care and have a fantastic weekend.
