Happy Sunday everyone.
It gets very complicated when you have two blogs. There was a good reason for it but hey ho! If you didn’t see my post yesterday over on the card blog I will fill you in on a bit of crafty news.
I have been busy crafting lately. Not just my own craft projects….getting ready for Christmas!!! but also creating some projects for Crafty Individuals and the Hochanda shows. If you missed the CI shows this weekend you can watch them on the Hochanda website on rewind.
Today I would like to share just one of the projects, a shell collectors box.
This is the front cover of the little box. The box itself is basically a wooden tray with a card jacket on.

and the side view
It was really fun to make. I painted the tray with Decoarts Americana paints. I created a jacket out of some really strong card. I painted it with Gesso and at the same time attaching a piece of tissue to add texture. The Gesso acts like a glue for the tissue. I then painted it with the acrylics using a sponge.
I glued the tray onto the jacket and then I glued the shells and the fabric in the tray and added the topper. If, I was doing another…which I definitely will do, I would just glue the bottom of the tray to the one side of the jacket and leave the spine. It does open but it would look better, I think, that way.
To finish off I glued the shells and fabric into the trays and attached the toppers and the text pieces.
Before I leave you today I would like to share a multi project image of some other projects I made for Crafty Individuals. Its a bit of a mix of projects with mixed media canvases, 7 day journal and a couple of wooden decorations. These will be appearing on the blog individually over the next few weeks but just in case anyone wanted to have a look.
I have also added a multi image over on my card blog of the cards I made if anyone would like to see those.
That’s all from me.
