No. 36 Memory Lane

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your lovely comments on my recent post on my card blog.

How is your weekend going? Are you busy shopping, house work or have you thrown caution to the wind and are busy creating something wonderful? šŸ™‚

Some of you know I have recently been looking at photos of past projects that for one reason or another haven’t appeared on the blog. Anyway, here is another project which was made for Katy over at Mixed Up Mag. The date on the file is July 2017 so I think enough time has passed and I am alright sharing this now.

I remember having so much difficulty taking a photo of this. The temperature was in the high 40s. I ended up, no joke, taking over 400 photos! And this was the best!!! lol!

I started off by finding some scraps of papers of the colours I wanted to use.

I then covered a piece of MDF with torn pieces of some of the papers.

I added some paint to try and blend the papers together and added some dark shadows around the hills and edges.

Whilst this was drying I cut out the papers to cover the house shape.

I added the little boys to the back of the house and painted the embellishments.

To finish off I attached the pieces with some gel medium. Strong glue will work.

I added some paint patterns and paint splashes.

Products used: Crafty Individuals: House blanks

Thank you for looking.

Have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Hi Flo, I remember this fab piece of Art, and I love it so much!! Your own house shape looks wonderfully with the vintage ephemera and the background made with scraps is adorable! The shadow around the edges is a clever detail!
Big hugs, I’m very busy with my school work, it’s time to write all the report card for children!! šŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Llze. Lovely to hear from you. This photo was taken a couple of years ago in the summer in Spain but I am now back based in the UK and its not so warm here!! Flo x

  2. This is absolutely gorgeous Flo! I love the pretty paper scraps you used to make this wonderful piece.
It’s been a busy weekend here, cleaning out bunnies at the animal rescue, four were re-homed which was fantastic. And today I’ve been making a card for my Dad’s 80th.
Hope you’ve had a great weekend,

    1. Thank you Ali. Belated Happy 80th to your Dad!! Sorry I am a bit late replying to comments. Sounds like a lot of fun at the rescue shelter. Although I have a sneaking suspicion that you would like to take most of the animals home with you!!! šŸ˜‰ Hope the guinea pigs have settled in now. Hugs Flo xx

  3. This is gorgeous Florence!!!

I hope you are well, sad to read that you have lost a lot of photos maybe!!!!

  4. Great project and the step by step was very helpful to show the creative journey. I remember you did a whole series of houses a while back. Was it really that long ago or did you do some more recent ones?
