New Stamp releases from Crafty Individuals – Perching Robin
Yes, me again. Second post in two days…..what is happening. Ooo! actually I think I have achieved my New Years resolution already. I have posted more than 3 times on my blog this year!!! 🙂
I will be back tomorrow with another project. There will also be some multi posting of card projects over on my card blog. Yes, I can hear you screaming in horror at the amount of posting but don’t worry I will be back to my normal posting of once every 6 months soon!! 🙂
Today’s project was made for Crafty Individuals using one of their super duper new stamps. It stamps like a dream. Really nice stamp to use. The line links on the robin are great for easy colouring.
I made the match box out of 350 grm card. I covered the card with old book pages and made a box base to the size I wanted and then made the sliding top lid to fit that. I do use a box making score board which makes it simple to do. Just to share. Over the years I have found Pinflair book binding glue to be one of the best glues to use for box making….in my humble opinion. It drys quick and the card doesn’t buckle as much as when I have used other glues.
I used Ecoline inks to colour the robin piece. The box was deeper than I would have liked so I glued a piece of thick packing card to the base of the box and then attached the stamp piece to that.
I coloured a piece of card with diluted distress inks and used one of the pieces of Crafty Individuals pretty papers to decorate the sliding lid. I stamped some script to the paper before I glued it to the box. I wish really I had used grey ink instead of black. I think the grey might have blended in better.
I made a couple of holes at the top of the inside box and threaded a piece of wool through it. I then separated the strands to fluff it up a little.
I will come back at a later date and add a direct link to the “Perching Robin” stamp CI 507 as it isn’t on the CI website yet. If you want to have a look at it, Do watch out for Jean on Hochanda. The details of the shows are below.
Thank you for looking.
Take care, Flo x
