Vintage sewing pages – when to stop!

Hi everyone,

I started making these fun pages recently to try and get me back into crafting. I have always had private journals but these fun pages are just to splash some paint around on.

I recently created a digital poster/wall art for my sewing room. I need to have it printed but hey ho it can wait like everything else. The colours of the poster inspired the colours I used for my pages.

You know when you are making something and you just don’t know when to stop. Something doesn’t look quite right or something needs just a bit more, or something is missing. Well thats what happened with this project.

I wanted to add some chalk paint here and there. The paint looked like it had been already opened when I bought it and it had dried up even more since I last used it. A bit like plaster so I splodged some on and went a bit over the top! LOL!

Now this is when to know where to stop. I thought it needed more so I added a bit more. Not sure I like it now but …………………

it doesn’t matter because it is just fun crafting.

Thank you for looking.

Take care,

Flo x

Hi, I hope you are ok. Thank you for calling in. Lovely to hear from you. I have crafted all my life and always taken comfort in it but this is just something else. I didn’t want to do anything else but work in the garden. It’s been really difficult hasn’t it. Just take each day as it comes. Stay safe xx

What wonderful pages, the sewing theme is fabulous and the images and colours are so beautiful.
I find I’m making less cards, I seem to have lost some imagination, getting more into adult colouring books where all I need to think about is colour, and I’m loving it. Sometimes you’ve just got to have a break from what you usually do. Hugs Kate x x

Thank you Kate. I saw your post with the colouring. It looked amazing and such good fun. As a lot of people know I don’t make many cards for myself. I know!! I think of them as little canvases. Probably where I am going wrong!! lol! I do know what you mean though. I think you have to find what fulfils your creativity at that moment. If, whatever you are doing doesn’t then find something else, try something new or go back to a hobby that you haven’t done for a while. Take care, Hugs, Flo xx
